SAP Calculations and New Dwellings Created Through a Conversion

If your project is to create a new dwelling through a change of use (such as a barn conversion or even by creating a greater or lesser number of flats or other residential units within an existing building) then your Building Regulation application will require a Part L1b SAP Calculation.

We will help make Building Regulation compliance easier by offering solutions and guidance throughout the design and/or build process concerning the controlled fittings and building materials necessary to meet the efficiency standards and overcome compliance issues in a cost efficient way.

We will save you money by assessing from architect’s drawings the building materials and heating products so there’s no need for costly site visits. We will never fail a conversion project and will always provide cost effective solutions and feedback for achieving a pass.

How does SAP work for conversions
We will undertake you SAP calculation for conversion from plans and construction specifications to ensure that both new and existing features are suitable for purpose and where new features are necessary to achieve a pass.

Part L1b SAP Calculations
We have extensive experience in dealing with the Building Regulations: Part L1b for conversions and can provide you with all the help you need concerning compliance and achieving the design that you want.

EAC South West will require the following to carry out a SAP calculation

  • Site address and post code
  • Site plan to include a north direction point
  • Scaled floor plans, building elevation and section drawings
  • Construction details of floors, walls and external walls
  • Details of windows and doors
  • Details of the heating and hot water system
  • Ventilation
  • Lighting and any renewable technology used
